Miss Pride 09 Benefit
Our 2009 Miss Pride, Akasha Lapre Karmichael, has scheduled her next benefit for Saturday, October 10, at the Polo Club in Huntington, beginning at 9:00 pm. We’d like to see as many members as possible turn out and support Akasha as she raises awareness (and cash!) for Rainbow Pride.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Akasha Lapre Karmichael came bounding into the Pride offices Saturday, looking a bit run down, but still all smiles. The night before, he’d won the Miss Rainbow Pride of West Virginia pageant, a drag competition held at the Clay Center as part of Gay Pride Week in Charleston.

Mr and Miss Pride Deadlines 2009
As every one is well aware Pride is upon us. The Miss pride pageant will be the kick off to our week long celebration on May 29,2009 at the Clay Center. With this being said deadlines have also been set for sponsorship into the Mr and Miss pride competitions. The Miss pride deadline for sponsorship is May the 27, 2009 and the Mr pride deadline for sponsorship is June 3, 2009. If pride has not received your sponsorship form and $150 fee by the above mentioned dates the contestant will not be allowed to participate in the competition. Thanks to all that have been apart and supporters of Pride. Happy 2009 Pride to all.

I got a report from Miss Pride of West Virginia, Jessica Jade, that there will be a benefit at The Park, Roanoke’s Premier GLBT nightclub this coming Friday at 10PM. Come on down to the Other Virginia for a night of fun, fellowship and a great show!!!
Jessica reports that former Miss Pride of WV Taylor Made, Destiny Storm, Enya Salad, Arcasia Xavier and
others will be there to give it their all to raise money for the 2009 Rainbow Pride of West Virginia Festival.

WV Pride Benefit at the Broadway
We would like to invite everyone to come out to The Broadway at 210 Leon Sullivan Way. Charleston, West Virginia 25301 (304) 343-2162 on Sunday February 22, 2009.
The fun will get started at 8:00pm with Stephanie Michelle, special guests Viki Williams, Michelle St.James, and friends to help raise money for Rainbow Pride of West Virginia. Lets all come out and support our community and West Virginia Pride.

Come join Rainbow Pride of WV as we host the gay prom at the Broadway on Valentines night. All 3 Miss Prides will be in attendance to perform for our attendees. We will also be holding raffles, selling pride shirts, as well as pride flags. The Broadway will be decorated for our valentines day theme and is sure to be a fun time for all that attended.
Formal attire is suggested for this event.

Martina Dezarea graciously organized a benefit for Rainbow Pride of West Virginia at the Polo Club in Huntington on Friday. Without the community, PrideWV would not exist and we are very grateful to Martina, The Polo and all patrons who donated to YOUR organization. We look forward to attending future events in all parts of the state and hope you will attend our annual festival in late May-early June (we’ll post event dates soon!)
